ARCOIRIS
Why do we need an outreach for the LGBTQIAPLUS community?
The simple answer is domestic abuse doesn’t discriminate. Unfortunately there is a huge stigma attached also to members of the “rainbow “ community seeking help when it comes to domestic abuse . They often don’t feel heard of taken seriously by for example the police. They also possibly have no family or close friends to reach out to because they chose to live their life authentic , and then what ? This is where DASU can step in and provide a safe, judgment free haven

IRIS
The Identification and Referrals to Improve Safety (IRIS) programme is aimed at improving GP and health workers response to domestic abuse.
We work across Denbighshire to provide expert training to clinicians to support them to safely identify women who might be victims of domestic abuse.
Clinicians can then refer women to ongoing support within the community provided by our IRIS Advocate Educator
